I've been a patient of Dr. Mayo for over 7 years, and I cannot recommend him enough. In 2018, I experienced a retinal detachment, and thanks to Dr. Mayo's expertise, he performed surgery that ultimately saved my vision. Also, I had retinal tears in my other eye, and he promptly treated me with a laser procedure. Dr. Mayo not only understands the stress and fear that come with eye issues, but he also consistently provides the best care tailored to my individual situation.
What truly sets Dr. Mayo apart is not just his medical expertise, but his compassion and empathy. It's rare to find a doctor who excels in both skill and genuine care for their patients. His office staff is also wonderful--always kind, and attentive. I feel well taken care of every time I visit. He is skilled, compassionate retina specialist who truly understands. Dr. Mayo is the best!

Dr. Mayo is an incredible ophthalmologist/retina specialist! He saved my eye! Twice!
I had two retina detachments and he fixed them both. I also had several tears which he fixed with laser. Dr. Mayo is so thorough, at each and every one of my appointments. He takes his time and welcomes any questions that I have and even questions from my family. His staff, Vanessa is FANTASTIC and Kristin and Rachelle as well. They are warm and make it as comfortable for you as possible. Dr. Mayo is the best and I highly recommend him. Thank you, Dr. Mayo, for all you did/do for me! -Dianne D.

I can't express how grateful I am to Dr. Mayo and his staff for stabilizing my progressive blindness and keeping it at 20/20. I have been battling Macular degeneration for over 21 years, and have been all over the state of California trying to find a retina specialist who would not only treat my eyes correctly but be pro-active in doing so. Dr. Mayo and his staff have all been vaccinated for COVID-19 and take all the precautionary measures to keep you safe when you are at the office. Dr. Mayo's staff speak fluent Vietnamese and Spanish. Blindness is a terrible illness. Dr. Mayo will fight for you to keep your eyesight. I highly recommend Mayo Retina.

I've seen Dr. Mayo for about 10 years and he is absolutely top in his field as a retina specialist. He has been able to successfully treat a serious condition I had, and he is very approachable. He will explain things in lay terms and will take his time answering your questions. Additionally, his office is well managed and he, along with his staff, speak several languages.
