Dr. George Mayo diagnosed and surgically repaired a retinal detachment in my eye over 3 years ago. Since then my vision has been fully restored and I have been under his care and monitoring for some time. There are a number of obvious reasons why Dr. Mayo is an excellent ophthalmologist and eye surgeon. These include his training, experience, and skill as a surgeon. Dr. Mayo is thorough, exact in his diagnosis and decisive on treatment options. But, what separates Dr. Mayo from other Ophthalmologists and what makes him exceptional is the personal care and level of attention that he gives to his patients. During a very difficult and scary time for me, Dr. Mayo was available beyond his regular office hours. Following surgery he personally called to check on my progress and responded immediately to emergency calls. He is both smart and empathetic with incredible bedside manner. A combination that is often difficult to find. My family and I will be forever grateful to Dr. Mayo for the decisions he made and the actions he took to save my vision.

Saw Dr. Mayo for a complete retinal exam. I was very impressed by the beautiful office. The receptionist was pleasant. The doctor was very professional. He did a thorough exam and explained everything to me. I felt very comfortable with him and would highly recommend him to my friends and family.
